Lynne Wilkinson is a full-time artisit, working from her gallery on the fringe of the Peak District. This rural environment provides her with the artistic stimulation needed to translate her passion for nature onto canvas.
Lynne’s pet Labradors, Clova in particular, are the inspiration for her animal studies. She uses a combination of expressive colour and vibrant brush strokes to reveal and capture the unique personality of her subject. Her paintings are very popular as her animal portraits have an uncanny ability to engage the viewer.
Regardless of subject matter, Lynne’s pictures are saturated with vivid colours and created with vigorous, uninhibited brush strokes. In many of the paintings, the animals stare out of the canvas so intently that the viewer cannot help but return their gaze and, in effect, become part of the composition.
