Off The Beaten Track with Jim Whitty

Jim Whitty

We love the work of Jim Whitty. Here’s a little about Jim…

“Jim Whitty’s paintings continually draw on nature and the Landscape around us. He loves exploring, discovering secret, seldom visited places off the beaten track. He spends hours pouring over maps, following the course of a river or coastline, or simply following his nose down a promising looking lane. These explorations keep fresh a natural wonder for the world around us he has had since childhood, and provide the starting point for many of his paintings. These can use a photo, a memory, imagination, or even a dream as their spark, but often change completely in the process off painting them. Playing with paint is an ongoing experiment to explore new ways of creating illusion.”
